About
What MycoNote is
MycoNote is a mushroom encyclopedia made in Ukraine: species pages with photos and descriptions, comparisons of dangerous lookalikes, articles, and a community where foragers help each other identify finds from photos.

Who makes MycoNote
My name is Valeriia. I love foraging and I make MycoNote myself, in my spare time: I write and fact-check the species pages, photograph mushrooms in the forest and answer every email. It is my personal project, run from Ukraine.
You can reach me on Telegram or by email at hello@myconote.com. And if you would like to support the site — here is how.
Where the information comes from
Species descriptions rely on mycological field guides, scientific publications and trusted online sources, listed at the bottom of every page. Some photos are our own; the rest come from openly licensed sources and are always credited. Spotted a mistake? Write to us and we will fix it.
Safety first
No website can replace identification by an experienced mycologist. Never eat a mushroom if you have the slightest doubt. If you suspect poisoning, call emergency services (112 in Europe) straight away.
Advertising
The site is free for everyone. Google AdSense ads cover hosting and development. They do not affect the content: edibility ratings and safety advice are not for sale.
