thanks to you

The site is free for everyone and will stay that way. But servers, the database and photo storage cost money, and the more people visit, the higher those costs get.

Why I do this

I love foraging for mushrooms. And every time I came back from the forest and wanted to check a find, I ran into the same thing: old websites, tiny photos, contradictory descriptions — and hardly anywhere an honest “what can it easily be mistaken for”.

So I decided to build such a site myself — modern, easy to use on a phone, showing right away whether a mushroom is edible and what it can be dangerously confused with. I make MycoNote in my free time and for free: I write and check the pages, photograph mushrooms, and tune the identifier.

Thank you, dear readers! The project is growing, and I’m truly happy so many people visit. But along with visitors, the site’s costs grow too. If MycoNote has helped you, please support it. Even a small amount helps keep the site alive.
